British EYFS Curriculum

The official Basic British program for children of preschool age, which is called Early Years Foundation Stage of the British National Curriculum, is the educational base for the additional educationa of Discovery International School.

Why EYFS?

The program EYFS is followed by all International British schools, being a new stage in preschool education from the age of three and up to the school time (in the UK children go to school at the age of five).

The application of the EYFS as a main program in Discovery International School is a key factor to a successful entry of your child into an English-speaking environment. It is easily achievable hence, form of a game facilitates the perception of bilingual abilities at an early age. This means that children can easily express their own thoughts in English and are able to continue their future studies at international schools abroad.

How does it work?

We see our children as naturally competent and capable learners from birth who usually learns at a fast pace. However, this process is not automatic and we are always here to make the right ambiance for the children for growing up well educated from the very early age.

EYFS comprises four main principals: Unique Child +Positive Interaction+ Educative environment=Training and Development

Each child is Unique, able to learn, being capable of it, confident and simply happy

Children learn to become strong and independent through positive interaction. Constant cooperation of parents and teachers is an integral condition of children’s right development and formation of self-esteem.

Children are easily taught in the developing environment, as we always find an individual approach to each child due to strong interaction between parents, teachers and teachers’ assistants.

Each child develops at his own pace. We care for each and every child, and we also welcome special children with different level of mental and learning ability.

How will I know that it works?

The key factor of the early child’s development are assessments that are regularly conducted at our school. Even prior to attending Discovery our teachers discuss the most essential moments with the parents. EYFS consists of multiple assessments throughout the academic year and our teachers provide the parents with detailed reports and give a feedback at the end of each term as well as upon graduating from the School.
